FORM You are required to demonstrate your understanding of various types of poetry and poetic devices. You must compose: 2 - 3 Haiku stanzas 1 Tanka or Cinquain poem 1 Poem (Select from the list provided.) Lyric Sonnet Ballad ( Narrative, Dramatic) Free Verse Concrete Rap Fib Fibku Your poems are to typed up and presented in a booklet format. Make sure to include a cover, an index page, and your poems in the order given in the index. Illustrations are optional. Content 1. One poem must be based / inspired by: a) a faerie/fairy tale or character or b) a mythological creature 2. One photo poem (See links for photos provided) 3. Your choice of topic. Poetic Techniques & Devices Use a variety of poetic devices studied in class when composing a particular poem. Use a minimum of 3 devices per poem, keeping in mind the type of poem you are composing. Length of poems will vary based type of poem being composed. If a poem does not specify a length, then the minimum length is ten lines.
